Update 2008: The largest venues worldwide

Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou: The largest venue in Asia

China has invested heavily in venue capacities
Comparing all venues larger than 100.00 sqm 2008 with the preceeding year 2007, it is evident that China is pushing aggressively the trade show business by investing in venue capacities. 
The China Import Export Fair Complex Guangzhou has been enlarged from approx. 140.000 sqm to 340.000 sqm, thus climbing to no. 3 in the world, getting ahead of Messe Frankfurt, which is now no. 4. New entries in the list of venues >100.00 sqm are in addition the Nanjing International Expo Center (110.000 sqm) and the New China International Exhibition Center Beijing (106.800 sqm).
All together the world enjoys 48 venues larger than 100.000 sqm. 35 are in Europe, 6 in the USA, and 7 in Asia, thereof 5 in China.
