MoOD 2010 - TAKE A LOOK AT THE NEWS: Blue Drop Bub, Contract Square & Outdoor!

Source: Stela Popescu

THREE INITIATIVES COMING FORWARD:
•The Blue Drops launched last year were further developed and got a different place in the new Blue Drop Bub, the ‘sanctum sanctorum’ of the fair.
•For the first time there is a true Contract Square.
•The outdoor initiative launched last year is no longer organized on one, but on two different spaces.

The Blue Drop Bub is located in Hall 6, near the sample banks and fits in with the further development of a strong own quality label which should benefit the entire sector. Blue Drops are only awarded to the best products to find at MoOD, by an external jury of experts. All of these selected products are housed in an especially developed space, the Blue Drop Bub. There, the visitors get an all covering story on the spot. Whoever visits the Bub gets an overview of all the sample banks for all product categories at MoOD: upholstery, window coverings and wall coverings. Is the Blue Drop an Award? No, but it propels the Award!
A visit to the Bub will be an absolute ‘must’: here all of the novelties may be seen for the first time. To these - first time shown at MoOD - products, a virtual continuation is given after the fair.

The brand-new Contract Square got its place in Hall 9. This Contract Square prepares for a growing market and has one major goal: being a meeting place of ‘specialists for specialists’. Exhibiting here is tied to conditions: participants must realize at least 40% of their turnover by means of the contract market. Thus, contract specialists get an overview of the specialties presented by some thirty selected companies participating at MoOD. As in the past, the contract story is supported by Trevira, which has been leading the way for many years.

The expansion of the Outdoor sector will turn out to be a new eye-catcher. Being a big hit last year, the initiative for this Outdoor edition has been doubled: next to the well-known zone, the passage between Halls 7 and 11, the Outdoor World will also be uisng the newly built space between Halls 11 and 12. The outside experience in its turn symbolizes the level of specialisation by MoOD. Dolan - specialist in outdoor fibres - is once more the driving force behind this success story, which diving a forum to the leading names in this sector.

Additional Inspiration
MoOD would not be MoOD if it did not put an extra focus on a number of striking developments.

  • The Wall Coverings Wall will draw even more attention this time, thanks to an increased number of participants and consequently an even higher offer.
  • The Innovation Platform continues to demonstrate what the future will bring. Here, the emphasis is once more on ‘crenovation’ and is demonstrated which products come about when creativity and innovation meet.
  • The Seminar programme offers the visitor the necessary vital information, in line with the fair’s own Trend Story.
  • Masters of Linen and Blossom 2010 deserve special mention. Masters of Linen surprises visitors by means of the numerous and sometimes unexpected possibilities of the product linen, while Blossom 2010 offers a platform to the young, trendsetting talents for the future of the Academies of La Cambre (Brussels) and KASK (Gent).
