Interiors Birmingham

Reshaping for the future

Interiors is the UK’s largest trade gathering of interiors products with a focus on furniture. The show is designed specifically for retailers, interior designers, architects and contractors to source the very latest interior products from new and up-coming design talent as well as established brands. Taking place from 24-27 January 2010 at the National Exhibition Center, Birmingham, the show, which has run over two decades, presents more than 500 exhibitors to roughly 25.000 visitors.

The presentation is split into 5 halls. Starting in 2010 the halls will be categorised into products, making it easy to find exactly the type of design looked for. Hall 1 will feature high-end traditional furniture, Hall 2, modern furniture, Hall 3, accessories, soft furnishings and lighting, Hall 4, occasional and dining, Hall 5, upholstery, cabinet, beds and bedding.

Over 100 of the exhibitors will be new companies to the show, including International bedding manufacturers Latex International /Rejuvenate (USA), Boydak (Turkey’s largest Bedding manufacturer), AIPI-Portuguese Lighting Association, Daniel James Fabrics Ltd, G & G Italia Srl, Content by Conran and many others.

Thinking Space
New to Interiors 2010 is Thinking Space within Hall 2. This dedicated area is packed full of features designed to provide retailers, interior designers, architects and contractors with added inspiration. Thinking Space will include among others:
+ New Design Britain Competition
+ Designersblock: these leading curators will put on an innovative display marrying established manufacturers with new and cutting edge designers
+ Birmingham City University and Global Color Research: a pavilion showing how Global Color Research’s trend predictions can be adapted for key sectors of the industry.
+ The seminar theatre, which features a comprehensive programme of presentations covering all aspects of the market, like retail and digital advice, exporting, trends and interior styling amongst others.

Interiors emerged in 2008 from several complementing trade shows like Furniture Show, Design Interiors, Soft, The Lighting show, which ran under the umbrella of The Interiors Event. The current crisis hit the UK furniture and furnishings industry badly, and Interiors 2010 will be part of the industries repositioning process.
