Founded in 1994, IHGF is Asia's largest gifts & handicrafts trade fair organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), at India Expo Centre and Mart at Greater Noida near New Delhi. It comes twice a year in March and October, and is clearly positioned as trade show for Indian handicraft and gift suppliers meeting national and international buyers. Next spring show will be from 20.02. – 23.02. 2010, the date for the autumn show has not been published yet.

Products include among others area rugs, decorative furniture, home accessories, home textiles etc. IHGF incorporates as exhibitors both established high volume exporters and specialized small and medium sized companies, which offer also small lot sizes. Indian artisans’ core competency and extended channelisation of craft practices has led to IHGF’s unique presence in the world market. It is marked in many buyers sourcing itinerary for both seasons- Spring and Autumn.

The fair has a massive collection of handicrafts and home furnishing textiles loaded with fresh new merchandising. These gifts and handicrafts import ideas are unique, high on creativity and quality and very reasonably priced. They go a long way in setting trends, generating sales, creating business opportunities and ensuring success worldwide and in India.
The success of IHGF is built on its excellent variety comprising furnishings, floor coverings, furniture, lighting, house wares, gifts, decoratives, fashion jewellery & accessories, festival décor, etc. Raw materials too come from a large family like, textiles made of natural fibres, artificial fibres, wool, silk, jute, coir, leather, wood, bambool, ceramics etc.
28th Edition of IHGF with focus on eco-friendly products
The 28th Edition of the trade show at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida from 10-13th October, 2009 saw a flurry of buyers from across the world who were destined to do business. The four day event covered more than 850 product styles focussed on eco – friendly products and products made out of different raw material base from over 2000 exhibitors. A major highlight of this issue of the show was the special focus to crafts from the state of Jammu and Kashmir like cushion covers, bed throws, table cloth and other textile home furnishings, but also bamboo and hemp products, willow baskets and many more.

Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair typically presents collections from over 2000 exhibitors displayed across an area of 97,000 sq. meters. More than 1800 international buyers and visitors at IHGF have a choice to source from a variety of over 850 product styles. Besides the exhibition halls, Buyers can enjoy the added benefit of visiting around 900 showrooms of exporters, located on various levels at the Expo Centre.
Apart from a sprawling site, the venue also offers Multi Function Business Centres, Internet Café’, Buyers Lounge, Currency Exchange Counter, Travel services and Transportation.
