The MoOD – Meet only Original Designs – trade show will be on again! It was launched under this new name in September 2009, in stead of the formerly known Decosit Brussels. Having had a real good start, as for exhibitors and visitors (see our MoOD 2009 report: www.expo-port.com/cmspages/view/79) - in June 2010, already 240 applications from 23 countries have been booked; supposedly reaching the exhibitor figures from last year. As in 2009, MoOD will be paralleled by the Expofil Déco und Indigo exhibitions. A very special feature of MoOD are the Sample Banks – displaying most innovational and technically sophisticated textile and other sample pieces in great number and variety - providing a marvellous overview to the state of the art. As in 2009, the trade-show will take place at Brussels Expo in halls 6, 7, 9 and 11. Read more

Im September 2009 wurde die MoOD – Meet only Original Designs – auf der Brüsseler Expo unter neuem Namen als Nachfolgerin der Decosit Brüssel aus der Taufe gehoben. Nachdem die erste Edition viel Zuspruch bei Ausstellern und Besuchern fand (09Report:www.expo-port.com/cmspages/view/79), sind bis Mitte Juni schon 240 Anmeldungen aus 23 Ländern gebucht worden. Es wird damit gerechnet, in etwa an die Gesamtausstellerzahl des Vorjahrs heranzukommen. Die MoOD wird, wie letztes Jahr, von zwei Parallelveranstaltungen flankiert, namentlich die Expofil Déco und Indigo. Eine große Besonderheit der MoOD sind die Musterbänke – mit einer Vielzahl innovativer und materialtechnisch interessanter Musterstücke, die einen hervorragenden Überblick der Produktentwicklungen verschaffen. Die Hotelex Shanghai 2010 (29.März bis 01.April 2010 im SNIEC) war von einem sehr positiven Geschäftsklima und guten Ergebnissen geprägt. Die Hotelex Shanghai gehört zu den weltweit wichtigsten Messen für die Hotellerie. Sie reflektiert die Dynamik und den Schwung, den die chinesische Beherbergungs- und Restaurantbranche seit einiger Zeit schon kennzeichnet. 885 Aussteller aus 24 Ländern und Regionen präsentierten ihre Produkte und Dienstleistungen. Hotelex Shanghai 2010 (March 29 - Apritl 1, 2010 at SNIEC) ended with an upbeat climate and good results. Hotelex Shanghai is one of the top hospitality events in the world and reflected the dynamic swing of the Chinese hospitality industry. 885 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions came to participate with their new products, an increase of 15% from last year. Italy and Ethopia presented country pavillons. Furniture, textiles and tableware formed an important part of the offerings. Visitors increased by 5 % and reached a total of 43,288. Read more

The Proposte, from May 5th–7th in Cernobbio, right at the Como Lake, has succeeded to prop textile preciousness against the crisis. 103 exhibitors offered an exquisite selection of high-end fabrics, mainly for upholstery, curtains and – following the new trend – for the outdoor sector. Having previously scaled down their general expectations due to the general economic situation, they seemed to be reassured by the propitiatory outcome. Quite thankful they were, too, towards the heavy rain that motivated the professional visitors to stay indoors! Therefore, the frequency at the second day was lower, but in the whole satisfactory.
