Tendence will be on from August 27th to September 31st at the Messe Frankfurt fairground. The show has seen also for 2010 acouple of changes to be attractive for exhibitors and buyers. We talked to Mrs. Nicolette Naumann, Vicepresident in charge of Tendence about the core of the fair and innovation.

Nicolette Naumann, Vicepresident Messe Frankfurt

Expoport: There have been many changes to Tendence over recent years. Against this background, can you once again explain the basic idea of the fair?

Nicolette Naumann: “On the new dates, from 27 to 31 August 2010, Tendence in Frankfurt will present the latest products for the home and giving. Distinguished by the most international range to be seen in the autumn, the fair is split into two sections, Giving and Living. While Giving reflects the whole world of creative ideas for presents, Living is the platform for the home and design. Tendence spotlights the latest trends for the coming autumn / winter season and gives an initial preview of innovations for the spring and summer of next year.”

Expoport: The dates of the fair have been changed for 2010. Could you once again explain why?

Nicolette Naumann: “This year, Tendence is being held again at the traditional time at the end of August. We have changed the dates in response to the wishes of the majority of Tendence exhibitors and visitors. The change of dates to July in 2008 and 2009 was the result of an exhibitor and visitor poll. At that that time, market players spoke of changes in the order cycles of the trade. However, these changes proved to be ephemeral and this is the reason we have changed back to the traditional dates at the end of August.”

Expoport: This year, the new Hall 11 will be integrated into the fair for the first time. What will be on show there?

Nicolette Naumann: “The ‘Loft’ and ‘Young & Trendy’ sections of the fair are to be found in the modern and exclusive setting of Hall 11. At ‘Loft’ in Hall 11.0, trade visitors will find design-oriented and avant-garde home accessories, furniture, luminaires, textiles and modern designs for dining and entertaining. In the ‘Young & Trendy’ section in Hall 11.1, buyers will find lifestyle products and striking and clever ideas. In other words, Hall 11 is the place to go for design-oriented ideas for the home and giving.”

Expoport: This year, there will be an attraction in almost every hall at the fair. Organising them must be an enormous task for your team. Which attractions do you recommend for visitors with a special interest in interior furnishing?

Nicolette Naumann: “Trade visitors looking for interior design characterised by emotional, exclusive and stylish products are well catered in Halls 8 and 9. At ‘Interiors & Decoration’ in Halls 8.0 and 9.0 they will find emotional products of all kinds and styles with a high-grade selection of international furnishing ideas, home accessories, furniture, textiles and luminaires. The focus of ‘Seasonal Decoration’ and ‘Outdoor Living’ in Hall 8.0 is on attractive products and accessories for indoors and outdoors. Here, trade visitors will encounter a huge range of decorations, garden furniture, planters and outdoor articles.”
