EXHIBITOR Show 2009

Source: Expo-port Reporter

EXHIBITOR Show 2009 was a considerable success in terms of the numbers of attendees and good reviews from the press. Since this is an educational event, what people learn here and how they apply it to their respective industries is another story, which in all probability would be curiosity generating and quenching at the same time, but falls outside the purview of reporting for this event, at best. Seeing the bevy of engaged attendance and pulsating activity the extent of interest in the event was clear and also that the investment of some productive time in bringing better and enhanced results to businesses was still a leading preoccupation in this period of depression.

The Conference part of EXHIBITOR 2009 was held from March 22 to 26 and the Exhibition part was held from March 23 to 25 at the Mandalay Bay convention Center, Las Vegas. This year’s event was the 21st annual educational conference and exhibition for the exhibit and event marketers. The event is sponsored by EXHIBITOR magazine, which is a product of Exhibitor Media Group. This annual event is considered to be one of the top choices for advanced education, hands-on training, new product launches, career networking, and for gaining special access to industry experts and thought leaders.

Significant Features of EXHIBITOR 2009:
The event EXHIBITOR 2009 was attended by more than 6000 exhibit and event marketing professionals. These attendees were from 29 countries from all over the world and also from all the 50 states of the USA. Many different seminars, conferences and educational sessions were held. The event has been in focus for two decades as one of the top most choices for educational events. The main focus of the event was on practical techniques for profitable face-to-face marketing. The curriculum this year also included sessions on survival and thriving strategies in the recessionary markets.

New Additions to the EXHIBITOR Show 2009:
The EventSALONS rooms in this year’s show were the latest addition. These represented five fully designed rooms under the theme of “Customer Event Experiences, Concepts and Conversations”. The best part of this concept was that each salon was presented by one of the top producers in the world of events. In addition there was a chance to interact with the key suppliers of the industry as well.

Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) Credential:
The event offers Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) credential. This is the trade show and event marketing industry’s only university-affiliated professional certification program. The CTSM certification program and curriculum was designed in conjunction with Northern Illinois University (NIU) and is awarded by the same. The CTSM program trains candidates in trade show and event marketing. Candidates are required to complete a curriculum of 28 seminars which equals 42 hours of classroom study. This year too, the candidates received extensive training in trade show marketing through the comprehensive curriculum of the EXHIBITOR Show. The candidates are also required to successfully complete a three-hour comprehensive exam, which tests them on the basic knowledge skills required by the trade show marketers. The candidates interested in taking the course should be currently working in the field of trade show or event marketing. So, the course offers them a great chance of further extension to their portfolio.

The next event dates are yet to be announced.
