2009 Marketing+Services and Display report
Source: MFAFrom 8th to 10th June, the Marketing+Services specialist marketing trade fair in Frankfurt/Main presented products, ideas, and proven solutions for greater marketing success as part of the Show+Sell theme. Display, the 12th specialist trade fair for P.O.S. marketing, took place concurrently.

Over three days, more than 250 exhibitors revealed the marketing industry’s latest trends in the Exhibition+Event, Promotion+Display, and Corporate Gifts+Incentives exhibition areas. “With a larger exhibition area than last year, we have rung in a trend reversal,” says Yvonne Engelmann, Director of Marketing+Services at Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen GmbH.
Programme of speeches was well attended
This year, the approximately 4,500 professional visitors from home and abroad primarily used the specialist trade fair as a know-how marketplace for the transfer of ideas to achieve greater marketing success. Furthermore, almost 2,000 participants absorbed the information given at the trade fair’s programme of talks – vivid encouragement for the top-flight marketing experts. Expert talks at the top of the hour, complemented by the After-Work-Keynotes, all-day workshops, and the “Communication for brands 2” convention gave the professional visitors an update on their marketing knowledge. “With the more broadly conceived programme of talks, we successfully responded to a market which has become more critical and presented an even bigger package of tried and tested marketing solutions,” says Thomas Schütz, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Ausstellungen GmbH.
Annual theme: Brand + Design
For the first time, Marketing+Services had an annual theme, Brand+Design, with which the trade fair referenced the growing significance of design in brand communication. Together with its new partner, the prestigious German Design Council, Marketing+Services presented the Design Plus Award for innovative achievements in the design field. In addition, the partners awarded the Show+Sell Award for the best trade fair presentation with the support of FAMAB German Association of Direct Business Communications: The winner was the trade fair designer Expopartner GmbH from Flörsheim. Two third places went to Kohlhaas Messebau GmbH & Co. KG and Holtmann Messe + Event GmbH.

Alongside these prizes, the Superstar was awarded for the most innovative solutions at the Point of Sale. Organiser Jürgen F. Bethge, Director of Display Verlag, also welcomes the new concept of concentrating on three core marketing segments at Marketing+Services. “Display, the 12th specialist trade fair for P.O.S. marketing, was optimally situated in the Promotion+Display area,” Bethge said.
A further highlight of the three-day event was the great Dine+Walk stand party. “It offered exhibitors and visitors further opportunities to chat to one another informally. Visitors from the advertising industry and agencies want to find out about what’s new as well as exchanging information with each other. The idea came off, and we will continue to work on it intensively in the future,” says Yvonne Engelmann, at the same time announcing that the next Marketing+Services will take place around the usual dates, from 18th to 20th May 2010, in Hall 3.0 of the Frankfurt exhibition grounds.
